For my birthday a few weeks ago, a good friend gave me a book by the same title. I know God is Able! I have always believed and trusted that He is able, but this book caused me to think about those three simple words in a very different way.
This past week, Luke had his follow up CAT scan. Early Wednesday morning, Luke and Katie sat in their Doctor's office waiting anxiously for the results. While they sat, many of you prayed. Prayed for...
... no new cancer activity including any new lymph nodes
... shrinkage of tumor
... weight gain
The Doctor was encouraged and shared that they could not have asked for any better scan. There is no new observable cancer activity including any new lymph nodes. There is one small spot (3mm.) on Luke's liver, but the Dr. did not seem concerned and could not say 100% what the spot was. The scan wasn't able to show specific shrinkage, because of the effect of the radiation on the tumor which is normal. Luke has gained 15-20 lbs. and has gained some energy back. The Dr. encouraged Luke for the amazing way Luke has handled these past few months.
You prayed. God Answered. Done!
Ephesians 3:20-21 is a passage from the Bible we read a great deal and is common referred to as a doxology of praise. The following version is from "Voice." As you read, think about what that one thing is in your life that you are holding back from God. Open your hands, open your hearts and give it to God, knowing that right NOW, at this moment, God is Able!
20 Now to the God who can do so many awe-inspiring things, immeasurable things, things greater than we ever could ask or imagine through the power at work in us,
21 to Him be all glory in the church and in Jesus the Anointed from this generation to the next, forever and ever. Amen.
The biggest mile stone is yet to come. Luke has surgery on Tuesday, December 8. The purpose is to remove the tumor and to remove a portion of his liver to be proactive. The surgery is first thing in the morning and will take most of the day.
Specific Prayer Requests:
- tumor can successfully be removed and colon reconstructed
- portion of liver is removed successfully laproscopically
- inner peace for Luke and Katie
- energy, wisdom, and perseverance for the doctors in the operating room
- no internal bleeding from procedure with liver
Thank you for your continued prayers and for walking beside us. We feel each and everyone of your prayers. Each and everyone!
Please Keep Praying and remember,
GOD IS ABLE!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
BE SURE TO GIVE HUGS TO THOSE AROUND YOUR TABLE AND COUNT YOUR MANY BLESSINGS!
